Quite a spectacular place we have here. A great opportunity to test out my new camera.
Thornwick Bay is just basically one of the numerous bays just north of Flamborough. The cliffs are made of chalk and the sea has produced some awesome caves.
Here are some photos i took.
Bonus fact: Flamborough Head has the only Chalk sea cliff in the north of Great Britain.
It’s quite a spectacular place to be honest. Really good to go poking around taking photographs. Little Thornwick Bay is just to the East and it is really quiet, only a handful of people there.
Do not enter these caves without an experienced climber. The rocks are slippery, and dangerous. If you time it wrong you might also get stuck in one of the caves due to fast rising tide. They are not easy to access. I’ve taken these photos so you don’t have to π
I am going go back and do some of the Flamborough North Landing at some point, but not just yet.
More updates incoming,
Irlsey
I love your photos – I’m rubbish at taking piccys. Thank you for reminding me how lovely FH is and thanks for visiting me again π
No problem,
East Yorkshire has some amazing coastlines.
I will be visiting North Landing soon for some more photos. Can’t wait. π
Yes – I’m still working my way down the Holderness coast…before it disappears!
Liked the “an eastern cave ” picture with Vicky in the background – shows the scale very well
